Job Description
The Center for Interdisciplinary Critical Inquiry (CICI) offers an excellent opportunity to engage in and support programmatic activities of a growing interdisciplinary unit. CICI seeks a responsible communications and media intern to support its programs through tasks which include helping to produce publicity materials such as flyers, newsletters, and email announcements; assisting with website content management; social media engagement; audiovisual support for lectures and conferences; and video captioning. Candidates should be enthusiastic, timely, reliable, tech savvy, detail oriented, and interested in interdisciplinary research in the arts and humanities and social sciences.
Established in 2013 by UC Berkeley’s Division of Arts and Humanities, CICI supports research and academic programs across disciplinary, departmental, and divisional lines within campus and to a global audience. CICI supports the Program in Critical Theory, the International Consortium of Critical Theory Programs, the Berkeley Center for the Study of Religion, the journal Critical Times, the Summer Minor in Digital Humanities, and the Environmental Arts and Humanities Initiative. We produce 30 to 40 events a year, manage millions in grant funding, and coordinate academic, outreach, and publishing activities that bring together a diverse community of faculty and graduate students from nearly 30 campus departments and schools.
