Kõmij Mour Ijin / Our Life Is Here - Get Involved

We invite you and all UC Berkeley departments and students to participate in Kõmij Mour Ijin / Our Life Is Here—a campus-wide exhibition and initiative unfolding from Fall 2026 through Spring 2027. This ambitious project brings together art, climate science, and cultural dialogue, and we hope to collaborate with divisions across campus to make it a truly interdisciplinary endeavor. 

Opportunities for involvement are wide-ranging. Possible programming content and research topics include, among others:

  • STEM + Arts and Humanities

  • Blue Humanities

  • Decolonization and Indigenous Rights

  • Plant and Ocean Ecology

  • Ecological Impact of Arts and Media (poetry, painting, sculpture, photography, video/film, dance, music, and social practice)

Potential engagement formats include:

  • Classroom engagement, including integrating project themes into your curriculum as assignments or special projects 

  • Lecture hosting

  • Symposium hosting

  • Performance hosting

  • Artwork installation in your venue/space

  • Film screening in your venue/space

  • Research/working groups

  • Scholarly writing

  • Co-developing and/or participating in public programs that span dance, performance, music, film, visual art, technology, science, or other disciplines

  • Centering affinity group events or gatherings around the exhibition

  • Proposing something entirely new that connects with your community

We warmly invite your creativity and partnership in shaping this dialogue, ensuring that the voices, perspectives, and expertise of UC Berkeley are woven into the fabric of this landmark initiative.
